What this is
Nexus Commons is a global directory of cooperatives, mutual aid networks, and solidarity economies. It exists because this knowledge was scattered — in national registries, academic papers, movement newsletters — with no common map.
The index is open. The data is CC-BY-SA. The infrastructure is member-supported.

Worker co-ops
Democratic workplaces where labour, not capital, governs.
Platform co-ops
Digital platforms owned by users and workers.
Consumer co-ops
Member-owned retail, energy, finance, food.
Housing co-ops
Homes removed from speculation.
Producer co-ops
Farmers, fishers, artisans pooling market access.

Data sources
The index is built from public data sources and community submissions:

- —Repair Café International: Community repair networks from 5,000+ local cafés.
- —Community submissions: Verified entries submitted directly by members.
Founding context
Nexus Commons emerged from the Fichtelgebirge, a rural region of Bavaria. A farmhouse built in 1742 — now being restored as a cooperative living and working node — is the founding anchor of the network.
The project is independent. No venture capital. No advertising. Sustained by people who believe cooperative infrastructure should be visible.
